      i actually think we need a clear explanation here, i dont think the problem is with an post. the insertion of AI information into our lives is being done at a speed and a scale i dint think we can comprehend. we are spotting some obvious stuff like this (and having a bit of a laugh to be fair) but AI written content is just as prevalent in written text.

      i suspect the many of the comments we are replying to here and on other sites, the stuff we are reading and the images that accompany them, especially around key subjects like russia and israel are increasingly this bullshit and almost completely undetectable.

      if an post and their team were fooled here, how many times a day do you think we are all being fooled and subtly manipulated towards extreme beliefs and ideas.

      This post has really triggered me. Because there are countless people calling out “AI slop” here claiming AI is killing artists etc. AI is also somewhat killing critical thinking, but it would appear that there’s a lack of it anyway.

      The artist is David Rooney. It’s absolutely most likely that he has layered images together and scratched away the surface paint too far on a modern image (as is his style).

      So is this an anachronistic mistake? Yes. But this isn’t your first correct chance to run into the streets and scream AI slop just because you’ve been waiting for your big moment.

      In a world of AI we can still have human mistakes people.

      If these are launched ye should buy some with the aerial and save em Incase they release an updated version without it. Could be worth a few bob to stamp collectors in 50 years
