Seriously though, we let our country get gang rapped by a cartel of landlords. If any government or politicians really want to solve the issue of affordability in housing, how about we start confiscating properties of landlords who break the law like this?
Would landlords for higher end properties than those described behave the same? I’m guessing not because the tenants can afford legal action.

I’d say looking at the data the large influx of a need for short term rents by both employees and most likely some tourism are what’s skewing the data.
