So, thoughts on a name for the new morality police?

Im thinking “the ministry of silly wanks”

No babies, no marriage, no dating, no sex, no masturbation

No coincidence as we phase out finite natural resources

If it’s barely legal then it’s legal

You wouldn’t stop a 18 year role having a drink on their 18th birthday because they’re barely 18

There’s nudity on Channel 4???? Fuck me where’s Mary Whitehouse when you need her.

      What’s barely legal?

It’s either legal or it isn’t.

    6. Zealousideal_Top9939 on

Personally I find porn like that gross, but this seems quite puritanical.

It’s either legal or it’s not.

millions to be spent forcing porn providers to…change the name and keep the content. Great use of funds that.

I feel like I’ve fallen into an alternative timeline where Charles II was never put on the throne.

    9. Honestly I don’t know what to even say about this type of stuff.

Labour has always been an authoritarian party, as have the conservatives, but after the most recent bill they’re obviously just trying to ban pornography.

As with the age verification bill, they’ll write it to be extremely ambiguous, so that private companies and individuals who provide or make pornography are forced to be over zealous at the risk of being criminally prosecuted based on the opinion of someone else.

What if you have a 40 year old woman in a school girl uniform? What if you have a young looking 21 year old in normal clothes? Unless they clearly define the parametres, which they won’t, both of these would be banned despite being otherwise totally consensual and legal.

Have governments learned nothing from telling people what they can and can’t think?

    10. Important-6015 on

I guess they’re just gonna ban the words barely legal? lol
      I mean, 18 is 18.

It won’t just say *barely legal girl takes huge cock*

      It’ll just be

*girl takes cock on 18th birthday*

      Or

      *18 year old first time*

      Etc etc

    11. Have they never seen C4’s Dogging tales. That was far more explicit and not what I was expecting at all, watched it during lockdown in a shared house. 🤣
Reminded me of being a teenager watching euro trash on mute 🤣🤣🤣
It’s getting really silly now. Parents should be parenting their offspring/crotch goblins .
Im not goung to sit here and say anything nasty/misogynistic or even misandry about her.
I have my own opinion on it . I don’t need this so called government telling me my own opinions and thoughts and if they are acceptable or not.
      It’s getting very black mirror.
      Parent your children.

Hilarious. The majority of folks in here were banging on about how Tories & Reform will deny your freedoms and try to control you.

Gotta go in with banning fast food advert aimed at children. New computer game themed mc donald advert telling kids to go on a mission to unhealthy food.

Why are policies being once again made off the back of TV shows?

    15. The fundamental problem with how politicians respond to pornography is that they think the public believe pornography to be real or somehow aspirational.

This is incorrect. Most people understand that these are fantasy situations performed by entertainers, as realistic as the latest Marvel movie.

    16. GenXcellency on

According to Google she’s 26 and doesn’t look remotely questionable in age. When exactly does she stop being ‘barely legal’?

    17. Random_Emolga on

God forbid they ban something actually harmful like gambling ads

    18. Lil_b00zer on

Streisand effect in full force for this. I would never had even knew it existed if it wasn’t for all the complaints and threats of banning

    19. Wrong_Lever_1 on

Jesus Christ I didn’t realise we had the fun police in the uk.

    20. mancunian101 on

So they want to ban legal content?

What’s with the sudden drive to ban porn?

    21. Unable_Flamingo_9774 on

      Taskforce!?

Christ alive, imagine the damn Thunderbirds paragliding into your house and smacking you laptop out of you hand because the lady is 22 in a uniform and she looks like she could be 19 which is really close to 18 and 18 is really close to 16 and so morally we all should stand up and thank them for breaching our privacy.

I for one am fully onboard with the task force w, and wish them all the best in purging the immoral demons just trying to have something to look at while they play with themselves!

      Rule Britannia!

      Illegal = ban.

      Next.

      Porn = ban.

      Next.

      Barely legal = ban.

      Next.

      ?? = ban.

      Next.

If you speak against the overlords, you will be vanished and your family will be sent to a re-education camp.

    23. chase___it on

barely legal is still legal. you’re entitled to think someone’s a bit weird for watching it but they are allowed to watch it, because it is legal. 18 year olds are not children and we do not want to start down the slippery slope of treating them as such.

    24. 50_61S-----165_97E on

So if you’re a grown adult but you look quite young, taking photos of yourself naked would be illegal?

    25. MrStilton on

The founder of this taskforce is Baroness Gabby Bertin.

Her [Register of Parliamentary Interests](https://members.parliament.uk/member/4577/registeredinterests) shows she has a Research Assistant working in her office, provided to her by *Christian Action, Research and Education*.

Considering this group’s website contains resources which call [“for an end to the porn industry”](https://care.org.uk/uploads/blocks/Pornography-3.pdf), the fact their associates are starting to be taken seriously should cause anyone who cares about civil liberties to have pause for thought.

For reference, this group also campaigned against the repeal of [Section 28](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_28).

These aren’t your cuddly, Anglican “live and let live” types. They’re extremist Evangelicals who want to impose their absurd worldview on the rest of us using the force of law.
