      It’s still Hailo in my head, and sometimes when I remember it’s not called that I go looking for Mytaxi – also a crap name but it made more sense.

      FreeNow *still* sounds like an app for getting rid of crap on a local Facebook page like Freecycle.

      Genuinely only realised it meant “I’m free now” a few months ago. I guess I never equated needing a taxi to being free momentarily? 

      Such an awful name. Isn’t it getting a new name soon or am I dreaming?

      If the 1990’s was the triumph of the nerds the 2010’s was the triumph of the gimps. Free now, deliveroo, UberEats, AirBnB the list goes on, all solving problems that don’t exist and simply capturing entire industries, employees have never made less for a days work and these companies simply made a massive monopoly move while regulators shit the bed

      The worst drivers for underhandedness, taking long routes or helping themselves to a few extra bob on your card. Deleted the app years ago

      The app was great when it was Hailo and has really gone downhill since. Uber is starting to build momentum here finally and Bolt isn’t bad – it’s good that there are options now as I find FreeNow so bad.

      I went back to Dublin recently (emigrated years ago) I can’t believe how expensive taxis are, nevermind how shit the availability of the same taxi’s are.

      A 15 minute drive in the middle of the day in Dublin 7 area was 30-40 euro and I had to wait 25 mins for a driver on this dog shit app.
