There’s always some reason you can’t talk about it.

      > Rights groups including Amnesty International have cautioned against releasing suspects’ ethnicities, accusing the government of “choosing to pour fuel on the fire of dangerous narratives, instead of taking action to address racism and hostility”.

Genuine question, what actions could the government take to address racism and hostility that wouldnt fuel more racism and hostility in the current climate? What can they actually do?

As an immigrants, I say these criminals need deporting.

It’s not hysteria if the reaction is in proportion to the issue, & the scale of immigration has been Biblical these past few years.

I think if a trial does ever collapse because of careless reporting, the government should make a big song and dance about it.

They could start spamming news stories about crimes committed solely by white British people in subs like this one every day using hundreds of sock puppet accounts.

The courts when asked to release the immigration status of child rapists: 😡

The courts when releasing the full identity and **home address** of someone suspected of burning a Qur’an: 😁

All of a sudden, releasing personal information isn’t in the public interest.

Contempt of court should not exist in its current form anyway, it was reformed in the USA a long time ago with the Brandenburg rule and their courts work as well or better. Our contempt rules assume the jury are actually very stupid, easily swayed peasants who must be protected at all costs, in which case juries should just be replaced by a panel of judges imo. That’s why you see a lot more media coverage around US cases than here.

    8. What a crock of shite, people are reacting to the truth, if you withhold the truth, then you create a problem which causes reduced trust in government, which causes alienation and this whole problem. Hiding the truth will cause more outrage.
