      A far-right rally planned in Cork for that day was reportedly set to be cancelled to allow supporters to travel to the festival.

      On Wednesday, a message on the Mayflower’s social media said: “On behalf of Mayflower Community Centre CLG we regretfully wish to inform the public that the upcoming ‘Mise Éire’ festival due to be held on 23rd August, 2025, will NOT be hosted at the Mayflower Community Centre.

      “This is due to terms & conditions not being complied with. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

      I gotta be honest, I am _incredibly_ curious what an Irish “far right” musician sounds like or what on earth they’d sing about. Not that I’d wanna _listen_ to any of that shit you understand; my ears couldn’t take the bleeding.

      Do also wonder if this thing was gonna have an attendance of Fuck All, and has only thrown light on the whole thing & created a new thing for bigots to scream “censorship!” over.

      I may get downvoted on this sub, but Kneecap signing a letter to cancel a music festival is peak hypocrisy considering they were crying free speech for the last few months.

      I’m sure that some of the people playing at this festival don’t have great views, but many also consider supporting Hezbollah to be disgusting too. Not to mention calling for the death of MPs

      I wrote this comment on a post on r/Ireland where people were giving out about the censoring of kneecap. It’s proving correct.

      This type of shite for the past 10 years is how we got to the point of Indians being assaulted.

      You can either let people dissent or you can keep pushing out all peaceful avenues until you get the non-peaceful ones.

      Probably not at all far right. That’s just what they say to justify getting their way.

      I can’t imagine it sold too many tickets anyway with this lineup. It’s a real who’s who! As in who is that?! And who are they?!

      Whilst I don’t agree with the far right I also don’t agree with censorship im torn in this case plus I never knew there was a far right music scene in Ireland I also find it strange when I think of far right music scene I think of fat hillbilly Americans with tattooed swastikas moshing

      You couldn’t make this up, the “Ireland is Full” crowd decide to have a festival in the least full county in Ireland! Leitrim is my retort whenever someone says Ireland is full!

      Seems like it’s just changed venue, not cancelled altogether.

      The source for the information in the article is the Mayflower Community Hall’s facebook page, that says they have decided they will no longer allow the event to be hosted there. No confirmation yet from the event organisers if they’re gonna cancel the event.

      even though im neither left nor right, i dont agree with this bullying into action from the left.

      the lack of action (or at least some kind of plan people can point a finger at) against both legal and illegal immigration into Ireland from our government has turned ireland into a political feeding frenzy.this whole youre either with us or against us crap going on all over the place.and the whole time in the background shady deal after shady deal is,being passed by our government.
