This just makes me so sad…but also angry with how we’ve let things go this far.

To the Irish folks here- please raise voice and help protect the legal immigrant community.

We need to be kicking the shit out of these people instead, we should not be like America.

I’m very suspicious of all of these posts about Indians. Even the ones that are seemingly positive saying “let’s tackle racism”.

    6. Sad that this is happening in Ireland ! Mainly just a few scumbags that are giving Ireland a bad name !

Seems like something people should follow anywhere. Showing up in deserted streets at odd hours is trouble but recent news has indian and irish indian people jolted. A friend of mine doing her Masters in Dublin had been so happy when she moved. She’s still jolly but she’s def on edge.

I made an Instagram a few months back. I interact with nothing and follow nothing. Still, I’m regularly getting ‘anti-Indian’ reels thrown in with the others I see.

There seems to be a coordinated effort in line to drive hate against Indians. There’s obviously some factual reasons I, and most Westerners, wouldn’t like to live in India but I don’t think we’re seeing this stuff organically.

As an Indian who’s been following this news, I hope my government makes a diplomatic issue out of this and hopefully we find a good solution to this problem.

Are we sure it’s not just the regular scumbags assaulting people and not getting arrested situation? And Not specifically targeted at Indians?

Our health and social systems are already struggling, but they would be in much worse shape without the contributions of Indian nurses and doctors. It’s ironic that people who attack others based on their skin color may one day find themselves or one of their loved ones relying on the same individuals to care for them or save their lives

Whatever about the rising brazenness of racist numpties, in Ireland today we basically have the same number of Gardai and prison places today as we had when there were a million fewer people living in the country.

The resources to go round and do anything about these problems just aren’t there. If the government focuses on tackling this for a while, something else will go to shit.

There are 14,146 Gardai today. There were 14,457 at the end of 2009. A ratio of 1:308 in 2009 is now 1:380 – so every Garda has to cover 23% more people and presumably crimes.

Just as a matter of interest, how many people from India have immigrated to Ireland in the last 2-3 years?
