In all honesty they’d have been much better saying “we’re going to be unpopular” and done all the controversial and large rises in one go when they came in.

After they u turned due to the unpopularity of the winter fuel allowance cuts I’m struggling to see how they’ve grown the nerve to hold out for much more impactful tax rises, which happen to be probable direct manifesto breaches too?

We all know they will just borrow more money like Boris and just pass the buck down the road like Trump.
At this point why do they even pretend to want to balance the deficit.
Just be honest, what the market might price in the real risk. Right best keep the lies rolling the free markets full of idiots right, right?

You can make money back from the gambling levy by whacking enough on Reform to win in 2029. These bozos might be trying to lose

Sack the manager and get the IMF in till the end of the season
Stupid, stupid decision making to have thrown all the money raised by tax rises last budget straight into the NHS, and then caved to your backbenchers over the mildest of welfare reforms (not even a cut, just making spending rise more slowly). Now we’re in the stagflation doom loop that literally everyone was warning Labour about.

They just need to cut spending, the economy is already crashing even without tax increases
