      I’d love to see him get nominated just for the comedy factor. He’s a real life Alan Partridge so he’d really brighten up the campaign with his egotism.

      His biography is basically him listing anyone in his life who was ever mean to him and how they must be very jealous of him today.

      Irish presidential campaigns are brutal. Flatley should be thankful that he is unlikely to get the nominations he would need to put himself under that sort of public scrutiny.

      He has my vote – he loves this country, he would be a fantastic ambassador, and he has what we Irish tend to lack – a sense of self belief! He would be wonderful in the role!
