**Five Belarusians have been charged in connection with acts of sabotage and espionage in Poland, as well as working for a foreign intelligence service, said the Polish National Prosecutor’s Office.**

Przemysław Nowak, spokesperson of the Polish National Prosecutor’s Office, told Polish state television’s Belsat broadcaster on Friday that the Department for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption is currently investigating three cases. He did not provide more details about the cases.

One of the indicted Belarusian nationals, whose name, in line with Polish privacy regulations, the authorities released as Artsiom K., was detained and charged by the Internal Security Agency for espionage, although he pleaded not guilty, on December 19, 2024.

According to evidence obtained by the agency, Artsiom K in December 2024 declared his readiness to act on behalf of a foreign intelligence agency against the Republic of Poland.

At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered the suspect to be held in custody. He faces a prison sentence of six months to eight years.

On July 29, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that based on “concrete evidence,” a total of 32 people from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine had been detained on suspicion of working for the Russian special services.
