    1. > his query as to whether the pupils would be ‘back home or in school’ was heard as a ‘bomb in school’ by the receptionist

I got hassled for discussing a build of materials (BOM) in an airport.

As ever woeful reporting by the UK rags…

How does this get to Court? Like the police have to do an investigation then submit all their evidence to CPS who then make a judgement call?

Why not get some response from the prosecution or police as to why this was progressed on tax payer dime?

Either more to the story or massive incompetence by the local police / prosecution.

It’s from The Metro so who is stupid enough to believe this?

Why wasn’t the receptionist in court for communicating a threat instead?

The police and CPS need to have a cold hard look at themselves. They don’t bring sexual assault cases to court because of lack of evidence and unlikeliness of securing a conviction, but bring this to court?

I’m positively baffled how the police interview went. Surely this could be easily explained?

Ok so from reading *four* other articles it makes a tiny bit more sense (UK Journalism!) – it reads like :

Man calls police, has a thick accent and talks super fast. The only thing the receptionist can make out is what she thinks are the words “bomb in school”. Line quickly terminates after this after those words.

It was made from a withheld phone number. Gardeners hadn’t phoned ahead in the past, and it was made from the male’s personal phone when he was alone in the toilets.

I can only possibly fathom it legitimately sounded like “bomb in school”. Without hearing the call we will never know. That and that it looks shady he called from a personal number when he didn’t have to when he was alone.

      Still stupid.

She heard a foreign accent and thought she heard the word ‘bomb’, so she definitely jumped to a conclusion
