Jesus fucking christ just build the bloody power lines.
We have giant wind farms in the north sea that are having to shutdown because they produce far more energy than can be transmitted to where it’s needed.
As with many problems with this country, the fix is simple: just start building, NIMBYs be damned.
The government has an overwhelming majority, they can override the planning process and pass legislation granting planning permission for power lines whenever they want.
Just what we need, we already allow water companies to dump sewage just about anywhere why not start burning even more fossil fuels so techbros can sell AI slop.
Line and number must go up at any cost, it’s only the plebs that have to deal with the consequences anyway.
