Be sure to always include a description of these cat callers so people know who to avoid when out themselves.

I will never understand the mentality of some people.

Must be an awkward time at the station assigning the jobs when the sergeant has to pick which female officers he thinks will get cat called.

This is really just a numbers game, the more desirable someone is to the masses, the more attention (wanted or unwanted) they’ll attract. The same works in reverse, the less desirable someone is perceived to be, the more likely they are to hear negative comments about it.
If everyone were completely honest, they’d admit they want attention from people they personally deem worthy, and they don’t want it from those they don’t.
That said, it’s good to see a bobby actually on the beat. It makes people feel safer, more of this, please.

Police don’t show up to robberies and theft but they have operations for catcalling??

When did telling someone they are attractive once become harassment?

I mean, they could also try walking down the street wearing slightly alt clothing if they also want to catch people yelling obscenities. It’s like they see the colour black and just go haywire and yell shit at me/my friends. Or hell, maybe they could just employ literally any woman in any form of dress. You don’t need to do anything special to have weirdos yell shit at you as a woman.

So police don’t have time to attend robberies, shoplifting, phone snatching, bulgeries. But people saying inappropriate things is apparent where we apparently need to spend their time.
Obviously catcalling isn’t ok. But if the police are constantly going on about how they don’t have resources to do anything, this is a real waste of resources.
Can’t they do an operation snap, get women to be able to send in pictures of cat callers and pick them up later for a discussion. Obviously they’ll need more proof to actually procecute them but it should scare a lot of them from doing it again.

Fantastic news! The police must have solved all other serious crimes and can now focus on this issue, bravo.

Good. This is exactly the sort of visible improvement to public safety that is worth investing some police time in. Making people feel safer in their neighborhood will have a big impact on their quality of life.

I saw a video the other day and a woman was setting up her go pro to go on a jog and a guy just walks past and says to her what a nice view of your arse! She was immediately creeped out.
It’s so wrong and creepy I just don’t understand how guys feel like they can be like that to a woman.
