Well I guess we dont have to support any US led wars anymore then, that’ll save a lot of money and lives

    2. BhalaManushya on

Even if there was a chance of any talks working then these id*ots are going to ruin it by running their mouths.

    3. What, JD have you been asleep the last many months? Ukraine is _buying_ weapons from US, you aren’t funding shit.

    4. Robotronic777 on

They are funding the war already. Systems are bought from us and donated to Ukraine. Fuck him

    5. Dirkdeking on

It’s just the predictable jojo. Next week Russia will get another deadline of 15 days and Trump will contemplate sanctions again.

    6. ILikeYourMommaJokes on

Usa funding what exactly? Usa isnt funding anything

    7. Basic-Still-7441 on

Yeah, no one has asked you to *fund the war*. What’s been asked is to deliver the security guarantees that you promised to Ukraine in 1996 or so when they gave up their nukes.

      Now provide or fuck off.

    8. So ahead of the talks the US is trying to strengthen Russias position. What an ally…

    9. StrangerConscious637 on

      Enemies of Europe:

      1. Russia

      2. China (for supporting Russia)

      3. USA

Anyone remembers when the US thought they won the Cold War?

50% rare earths are not enough for America? Greed is one of 7 sins.

    12. notmyfirstrodeo2 on

Great way to start any talks already showing all the cards, that you won’t be supporting Ukraine.

This seems like a pure Molotovi-Ribbentrop style meeting between USA and russia.

    13. ProbablyBsPlzIgnore on

Vance is more concerned with his 2028 campaign than he is with supporting the current administration’s diplomatic efforts.

    14. Airf0rce on

All of this is just throwing Russia a lifeline, they’re desperate to do it for some reason. There’s no other explanation why US is so eager to pre-surrender and strengthen Russia’s negotiating position. There are no sticks for Russia, only carrots.. while Ukraine gets extortion and threats.

I hope this fucking thing haunts all US alliances for decades, nobody should ever trust them again. What’s even the point of US president saying shit like “as long as it takes” when in just year or two admin changes and shits all over the that and actively switches sides.

    15. OffsideOracle on

We all know what is going to be the result of this “peace negotiation”.

J.D. Vance has made a career out of trading integrity for airtime, but declaring America “done” with Ukraine takes it a step further: it’s the active dismantling of US reliability as an ally. This isn’t policy, it’s performance for an audience that cheers weakness as long as it flatters the right strongman. Piece by piece, Vance helps steer the US toward the foreign-policy irrelevance he seems to think is strength. History will remember him – if at all – as the man who mistook petty contrarianism for leadership and left his country smaller in the process.

**Edit:** This reads like yet another cheap and damaging attempt to strong-arm Ukraine into accepting territorial concessions. The fact remains: neither NATO under its secretary-general Rutte, which refused Ukraine’s membership and acts far from independently, nor Trump – who is not Ukraine’s president – has any authority to decide such matters. And even a novice in geopolitics should grasp that yielding stolen land to an aggressor like Putin, who invades sovereign nations, is read only as weakness – and an invitation to pick his next target.

You already did that, Europe has been funding Ukraine since the shit for brains in chief took over,

    18. They’re just preparing, that UKR will be the bad guy and that they have to force the “peace treaty”, which Putin and Trump will sign, on them. Just wait…Munich 2.0 loading….

    19. creatingissues on

Can Vance shut up already? Nothing of value comes out of his mouth. And it’s not “Ukraine war”, Ukraine did not start it. But it’d change context in the way that does not benefit his narrative, wouldn’t it.

    20. DisasterNo1740 on

Another appeasement in preparation for incoming failed ceasefire negotiations which the U.S. will lay the blame on Ukraine and Europe for.

    21. PrestigiousCrab6345 on

That’s how you win a Nobel Peace Prize: let the invader win.

    22. Pepphen77 on

      This is quite expected.

Trump threatens Russia, with empty threats and delivers Ukraine empty promises.

Then presents the same russian list that Putin wanted to be accepted all along, and when Ukraine once again does not comply, Trump will only punish Ukraine and will give Russia any and all rewards for being such a good friend..

    23. dharmasophist on

This is even more hilarious knowing what’s in store for the US for the next two decades.

    24. casualphilosopher1 on

Lol, Putin is gonna love this. Way to set the mood for the “peace talks”.

    25. InCloud44 on

Also, US Senator Graham: Graham said that the US and its allies must continue supplying weapons to Ukraine, **deploy some European forces on Ukrainian territory** and promote economic integration. So… is Europe prepared for war?

    26. AdLongjumping9249 on

Only country to ever invoke article 5 and for absolute bullshit reasons too. Fuck you America, fight your own battles going forward.

What else is new? US hasn’t spent a dime on Ukraine in the last 6 months. All pledges were made by EU, Canada and real allies.

    32. kittyonkeyboards on

So how is this a good strategy before the meetings?

Oh wait, Vance is trying to undermine it.

    33. Tortoveno on

Yeah, “funding”. They selling weapons. And their banks will be earning money on this war for long time to come.
