Well, that’s a lie isn’t it? It doesn’t say how he escaped or where from: surely they kept him in custody for the duration of the trial?!
An interesting case for the people who think foreign criminals should just be deported. This guy has effectively deported himself – so that’s a good result, right ? Be a bit silly to put time and money into bringing him back just so he can be deported again a few days later.
