Secondo te, la Lituania dovrebbe anche fare questo passo e riconoscere la Repubblica di Cina (Taiwan)? Soprattutto per quanto riguarda i diritti umani, che sono completamente ignorati dal PCC, questo dovrebbe essere l’unico passo giusto per una democrazia occidentale, giusto?

With regards to our own history, yes we should.
Will we? No.
What’s stopping the Germany from doing the same?
Don’t get me wrong, we absolutely should, but if we are talking freedom and human rights, the recognition should be pushed on EU level, otherwise the singular countries that do it on their own, will be extremely easy pickings for chinese foreign and economic retaliatory policies. Afterall, One China strategy is as strong and as enforcible as long as the country remains the world’s biggest manufacturer with it’s grip on international supply chains.
If people of Taiwan think that they are separate from CCP, i mean China, who am I to say no.
While it would be totally badass for Lithuania to do so, giving the PRC something else in common with Russia (ie poor diplomatic relations) doesn’t seem like a wise thing to do.
No, because recognizing the Republic of China means you don’t recognize The People’s Republic of China.
From moral point of view – yes.
From economical – no.
Didn’t they already do? That’s why China closed the embassy?
