Evilya Çelebi from his book “Seyahatname” (book of travels) Volume 8:

      >In the town of Krujë, the fortress still stands as a testament to the valor of Skanderbeg, the lord who defied the Ottomans for many years. His name is still whispered with respect amongst the people. Though the fortress has fallen, and the land is under the domain of the Sultan, the memory of Skanderbeg’s resistance is alive amongst the hearts of his people. In every village in Albania there are stories of his battles and his bravery.

      >In the town of Lezha, the tomb of Skanderbeg lies, and the people visit it as a place of pilgrimage. It is said that he is buried there, and the resting place is considered sacred. Though it has been many years since his death, the Albanians continue to speak of him with great reverence as a defender of their land against the Ottoman Empire.
