Io e il mio amico stiamo programmando di guidare da Colonia a Strasburgo a fine agosto, e vogliamo fare un viaggio panoramico e fermarci in siti storici, vigneti e generalmente stiamo vicino al fiume Reno senza aggiungere troppo tempo al nostro viaggio. Stiamo anche pensando di fermarci a metà strada per una notte in una locanda. Qualche consiglio per attrazioni o luoghi affascinanti in cui soggiornare?

Skip Mannheim, go to Heidelberg instead.
Google Maps is of course showing you the most efficient routes along autobahns, but for the really scenic route towards Koblenz you need to take either federal route 42 from Rüdesheim or federal route 9 from Bingen. Route 9 takes you down the left bank, giving you a clear view of the Loreley. There are no bridges across the river on that section, but there are some ferries.
Is there a reason for the Rhine River? Otherwise I would detour from Koblenz via Trier along the Mosel.
Take B9 down to Koblenz, then along Mosel river.
When we drove through this stretch from NRW to Europa Park, we decided to detour through the Kaiserslautern area. Not for the city, but the beautiful surroundings. Defo wanted to explore that area more!
