It doesn’t mean anything. Most of the other parties are either closer to Smer or just pure populists.

Since Hlas is in bed with Smer, it seems unlikely they would ditch them for the Progressives (PS).

Republika is the most fascist party there is, and they market themselves as the pure opposite of PS. So we can cross them out.

Slovensko (the party) is the reason why Fico came back from political death in the first place. Any future coalition with them would kill the government through pure incompetence or scandals.

KDH is the OG conservative party. The party is very split when it comes to Fico. One half likes him for his conservative “family” values, while the other half hates him simply because he’s Fico. Either way, they have nothing in common with PS.

The only party I could imagine entering a coalition with them would be SaS. But they’ll be happy if they even manage to get into parliament.

So unless PS somehow manages to get around 40% (by pulling voters from the Smer camp), it’s unlikely Fico will lose.

Is there any chance Hlas could join an opposition government? I don’t know much about slovakian politics but I remember it being considered the party out of the more progressive wing of smer. Otherwise, are there coalitions which would allow for an alternative government to the current one?

It’s funny lmao with the polls too in Poland and Hungary, in 5 years time all the countries that were condemning the east (France Germany and us) will have right wing governments meanwhile the ones that used to will have centrist liberal governments
