The basis of this fact check is the assumption that the Police wont lie to protect the dignity of a foreign dignitary. This is just as worthless as the unsubstantiated claims

As if the US Secret Service are going to trawl through hundreds of social media accounts in the few hours before Vance arrived. If it did actually happen the media would be able to trot out dozens of witnesses.
All I have seen so far is a quote from some random dog walker.
