It’s always interesting to see the effects of brainwashing in action.
The man was an Indian nationalist, but still subordinates himself to the system which oppressed hundreds of millions of people.

Actually we _did_ learn. We decided WWIII was probably a bad idea. We boosted human rights and international law. We supported organisations like the UN. We made serious inroads into world poverty.
But as the generation which had experienced WWII passed away the old irrational forces reasserted themselves. We forget why fascism is a bad idea.
