This article is just a straightforward statement of facts.

It is mainly just saying that we had a huge influx of asylum seekers last year.

      Other figures, e.g.

      >In 2024, there were over 1,000 new beneficiaries from Nigeria, Jordan, Somalia, and Pakistan.

      >Other countries that had over 1,000 people receiving the DEA in previous years were Algeria in both 2022 and 2023, and Georgia in 2022.

Just follow trend lines that have already been reported.

It is interesting though that despite pressures on the IPA system that time until IPA enter the labour market fallen from nine to six months. I’m curious if this just means “be eligible” because the minimum time to become eligible is six months. I suspect what this means is simply that processing IPAs to be eligible to work has been expedited with the government seeing every cloud possessing a silver lining.
