You should go to the emergency section at the hospital and they would give you rabies shots. They suggest rabies shots even for the pets who live indoors if you hadn’t got shots last 10 years

For me Vaccine is not necessary because cats dont have blood vessels in their nails. And even though they can lick their paws the rabies virus dies within minutes

**You should. Everywhere around the world. Everywhere.** I seriously get annoyed when people ask this here, don’t take it personally please, you are not the only one. Because it implies “are your animals/streets clean or not” doesn’t matter if they are clean or not, you should vaccined yourself. It’s free (at least to the citizens but probably to the tourists too, or even if it isn’t it’s probably few dollars.

I don’t remember when last time someone died from rabbies, maybe in the 90s. Don’t ask, get vaccined.

It’s literally soo easy to get. You just walk in, they give you the shot, you fill a form that takes 1-3 minutes, then you are out in like total 10 minutes. Go do it, at least your conscience is clear.

There is a low chance, but rabies just kills you, and there is no treatment past a certain point. Not to mention its a very long, and painful death, not a quick one.

Unless you’re in a rural area it’s almost impossible to contract rabies in Turkey, the main risk is tetanus. Get your vaccines to be safe.

Yes, yes, yes. You can get rabies even from broken skin and it’s 99.9% fatal.

i got the answer for you. same happened to me. i didn’t go to a hospital for the shot. nothing bad happened.

till this day, I still cringe when I remember. it was the most stupid decision of my life. I never forgive myself for such stupidity. I could have just go and got my shot.

you could be safe, but knowing you are an idiot also leave a mental scar.
