At this point just preventing Trumpolini from not actively sabotaging the fight against russia is a win

First of all, the meeting was NOT the potential disaster that TACO-Don is ‘naturally’ always capable of. That was a good ‘result.’ But let’s be honest… what are the ‘hard facts/outcomes’ of the meeting? In short: nothing. Putin ‘might’ be willing to participate in a one-on-one meeting with Zelensky, the US ‘might’ provide security guarantees, and that’s it.
And PISSkow (Peskov) and Horse-head-Lie-Laughrow (Lavrov) are already saying: Nyet, Putin will not participate in any meeting with Zelensky… why should he?
Conclusion:
Nothing has changed… only the atmosphere has been enriched with CO2 from the trips… and that’s it.
I’m sorry… but I had hoped it would be better… but the facts are what they are.

With Trump it’s always about ego, like his silly remark to Macron, such a narcissist. I do feel the reason he was pleasant, is because one of the world leaders intimidates him, I’m just not sure which one? Intimidation and jealousy always play a big part in his actions.

An opinion piece from German magazine Der Spiegel is calling it:
“Adults try to convince a hot-tempered child to share his sand shovel. (…) The Europeans had to try everything to remind the US president which side he is on. (…) The pictures from the center of western power looked like scenes from ‘The Last King of Scotland’ or ‘The Death of Stalin’ – grotesque movies about dictatorships”.
I agree with that description, it was all very undignified. For Ukraine’s sake I hope it was at least worth it.

The leaders who attended by Ukraine’s side are the people I’m admiring today. They had to coordinate a unified facade, literally a front, a “presentation.”
These leaders did what was required on a sad day for many Americans. The meeting is in the books and the fight continues, because they actually …. went there.
We’ve all seen the rooms. Gold everywhere. They went there.
I felt sick watching the meeting, but today I feel better because those people who flew in with Zelensky truly showed what they are worth as friends and allies, even to the US!
They bowed to the human obstacle, trump, for Ukraine’s sake and the sake of a necessary victory and justice that must be won. I find that incredibly inspiring.
“That’s the spirit” is exactly the thing I would say to these leaders.

The best thing to come from this was a firm message from Europe that it won’t let Ukraine get steamrollered by Putin and trump
