This highlights the challenge of integrating variable renewables.🔹 Infrastructure matters: Price differences often reflect transmission bottlenecks and varying grid flexibility. Countries with better interconnection tend to have more stable pricing.🔹 The transition cost: Higher prices in some regions partly reflect the investment needed for clean energy infrastructure – short-term pain for long-term energy security and climate goals. Fun fact. France could be cheaper than any countries in Europe but European Commission forces France to sell its electricity to a “standard” higher price because of Germany (they dismantled their nuclear power and are using coal instead.)
