On August 20, 2025, an unidentified object exploded in Osiny, near Łuków, Poland, at 2:22 AM. Local police discovered scattered, burned fragments of metal and plastic across a cornfield, but no impact crater was found. The explosion was strong enough to shatter windows in three nearby homes, though no injuries were reported. Authorities, including police, firefighters, military, and counterintelligence units, secured the area and investigated the incident. Radiation was checked and found safe.
The Operational Command of Poland’s Armed Forces stated that radar records did not show any breach of Polish airspace from Ukraine or Belarus that night. Initial assessments suggested the wreckage might be from an old engine with a propeller, but investigations continued.
Unofficial information cited by “Rzeczpospolita” suggests the object may have been an Iranian Shahed-131 or Shahed-136 drone (known in Russia as Geran-1 or Geran-2), which Russia began producing locally in 2023.

Romania and us have to deal with this shit all the time and we aren’t even at the table regarding peace talks, sad reality, it wasn’t even that near the border
Might as well not bother getting the jets in the air during attack on Ukraine if they are incapable to even detect a single shahed drone that’s been flying for a 100 km in their airspace.

More likely a decoy – explosion is described as much too small for Shahed’s warhead.

Possibly Putin’s answer to yesterday’s NATO fighters scrambling.
“There, I bombed a NATO country. Go Article 5 on me, I double dare you.”
And Europe, in its spineless glory, will sweep this under the rug and pretend nothing happened.
