1. Bar shift leader was unfairly dismissed for letting staff member have ‘eat-in’ discount on take-home food, tribunal rules.

2. Staff are allowed 50% off food/drink and must eat in the pub. If they buy stuff and take it home, it’s 20% off.

3. He gave them 50% off and the staff member took it home; hence the sacking; however they had a totally clean record. The judge said he was guilty of negligence rather than gross incompetence.

4. He is likely to receive compensation after the tribunal found his sacking was not reasonable, thanks to his clean record.

Personally ~ I think this result is ace.
