When those trees are grown and everything that is now dirt is beautiful green grass, it will be a fine park IMO. If they install a few benches and that fountain is drinking water, it might even be a good small park.

It will look very different once there is grass around the trees and even more once the trees are grown.
I walked through that platz every word day from 1999 to 2006. Speedy pizza or Thai for lunch across the street. Whichever line was shorter.. Good times

Could you be more specific or give any hint at all what a park had to look like to meet your idea of a park?
I was curios, this really looked stupid on first sight. Butaccording to the website of Baden it’s purpose are mostly events, named are Oktoberfest, streetfood festival and christmas market, but also smaller cultural events like concerts. For this usecase it makes sense not everything is green. Also, according to a news article I found the “Trafoplatz” which served for this events so far will be turned into a green park without secondary use. So in my opinion not a bad thing, mostly because until now it looks like both places wer mostly parking?

A similar thing is the place in front of the Gais Center in Aarau.
Could’ve used some pavers. Asphalt just looks cheap.
If you cared to explain what bothers you, I could tell if I agree (which I probably don’t).
Its a Platz and not a Park. Learn the difference. Other than that, this Platz is still under construction and all the greenery have to grow first.

For me it looks like thy build pretty much exactly what they sold to the public.
As other mentioned – Trafoplatz right behind the building (who had the event venue funtion so far), will be redesigned into a Park.
Sure it will look greener when the trees and grass grow but my god why so much asphalt
After all, it’s still a construction site. Once the landscaping work is done and the grass and trees have grown, this will be a decent little green area to rest on, if you ask me
