Un’indagine interna ha dimostrato che fino a 1 su 10 membri delle forze di polizia di Lausanne facevano parte di un gruppo di WhatsApp che presentava regolarmente osservazioni razziste, sessiste, antisemitiche e omofobiche (l’articolo contiene alcuni esempi, si legge come una carta da bingo di quante minoranze puoi offendere in una vai …). Nella stessa conferenza stampa, i municipali incaricati della polizia si sono anche rivolti alle rivolte in seguito alla morte di un minore coinvolto in un inseguimento della polizia in uno scooter presumibilmente rubato, estendendo le sue condoglianze alla famiglia sottolineando anche che nulla di attaccare i funzionari pubblici o distruggere la proprietà pubblica.
Spero che questo thread non si trasformi in un fuoco di cassonetto come l’altro, ma forse, solo forse, c’è una via di mezzo tra «tutta la polizia sono maiali nazisti» e «manda tutti i minori coinvolti nelle rivolte di nuovo da dove vengano, anche se è solo il prossimo villaggio oltre»?

I’m not swiss, so I am not completely current on all of this, but I don’t understand how people can’t see that while obviously it’s the fault of the boy on the scooter for being stupid, a lot of community anger also came from the loss of respect and trust for the police.
There was literally a (black) guy caught selling drugs who died while being interviewed by the police. I’ve never been to a police interview before, but in all the interviews I had in my life, I’ve never been anywhere close to feeling like I’m going to die.
Yet when the police caused the man to die, nobody was gleefully calling for the police to be kicked out of the country, they were calling for investigation to the truth. Yet when minority communities become inflamed by racism, people only react angrily without asking what’s the truth.
My opinion is that the violent rioters do need to be punished. But I am shocked that there’s so much tribalism in the comments about left wing being anarchists and the right wing are always upstanding. Isn’t that just going to worsen the situation?
So 10%. What’s the % of the Global Swiss population is racist (real question, could not find data) ? Maybe it’s just representing the overall population ?
