Why are there still hereditary peers lol, why must all reforms in this country move at a glacial pace

not sure i’m 100% on board – presumably some in the house of lords would have fairly narrow domain of expertise and so might only turn up occasionally, but on those occasions their insight would be valuable (and believe they’re only compensated when they do turn up so it’s not like that’s a drain)
