    1. Hmm…this is starting to feel a lot like 2008…not the housing bubble, but the economic crash….

Sure the way things are going in a couple of years a 3 bed semi-d “fixer upper” will be at least a million.

Basically any decent house with some garden / privacy in any city or popular town.

Can only get something cheaper in the middle of nowhere…

I am not sure 1m euro is a luxury home. Might be a luxury location. In Dublin 1m might not go as far as people think. In cork we have had semiDs go above 1m in last 12months. Lovely extended and done up semi Ds in great city location but still 1m for semi D

Didn’t Irish do the same during the Celtic Tiger era in Hungary and Bulgaria etc?

First it was Chinese investors on Golden Visas snapping up those houses, now it’s wealthy Americans. No wonder the housing market feels like a constant rug pull for the rest of us.

You should have to be a normal resident for =>6 months to buy residential property here like in Aus.

      Can’t fathom why not.

Back in the day we didn’t permit non citizens to purchase property here without ministerial approval. Maybe we need to consider that again?
