This springs to mind when I see what could have been with Dublin.

I thought it was a fun and enjoyable film. I’ll probably never watch it again. Brainless entertainment and at 95 minutes it didn’t hang around long enough to get stale. The skyline was very funny to see though.

Saw that a few weeks ago. Had to do a doubletake at the start.
I enjoyed it. Switch off the brain.

Look at all that affordable housing.
Well fuck you, you don’t deserve it because nimbys want to preserve the non existent skyline.

Yeah vfx’d away all the filth, completely unrealistic

Wow. All the buildings, by means of their bulk, scale, mass and height, seriously injure the visual amenity of the skyline, and are therefore contrary to proper planning and development.

“Mega City One. 800 million people living in the ruin of the old Dublin and the mega structures of the new one. Twelve serious crimes reported every minute. Seventeen thousand per day. We can give suspended sentences to around six percent. Only one thing fighting for order (and height restrictions) in the chaos: Dublin City Council”.

Very very fun movie!
But yeah the Dublin skyline made me double take several times.

Just in case anyone was wondering, the CGI here is literally just inserting the Samuel Beckett bridge and the Convention centre into the Chicago skyline. Everything else in the image is the real Chicago skyline from the river

Looool I just watched this on a plane. Terrible even on a plane. I saw the cobblestones in the car chase and instantly recognised Dublin, in some form or another. Did they have the bridge at some stage but CGI out the harpstrings?

Dublin 2050: Dublin City Council have finally abandoned their notions about the city having a unique skyline…
