It hasn’t been long since Merz became chancellor, and his work began

The German economy has shrunk for the past two years. Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s administration has made revitalizing it a top priority since taking office May 6.
It has launched a program to encourage investment and set up a 500 billion-euro ($582 billion) fund to pour money into Germany’s creaking infrastructure over the next 12 years. It is promising to cut red tape and speed up the country’s lagging digitization.

Literally just build windmills and get over the energy crisis (and purge the government of any idiot involved in Nord Stream while you’re at it)

German economy was based on cheap energy from Russia, cheap workforce from Eastern Europe and famed German quality.
None of these exist any more. Idea that “German car” is somewhat better than others due to QA or build quality is thing of the past.
Lack of a significant tech sector helps as well, how can you have a huge global economy without a tech sector?
