      Denmark has very high taxes, but comparing a single tax is meaningless. Countries arrange taxes in different ways.

      Det giver ingen mening at regeringen vil fjerne afgiften på slik, men ikke pille ved afgiften/moms på sunde råvarer.

    3. Er jeg den eneste, der frygter, at hvis man fjerner/sænker momsen på nogen varer, så vil der være en masse firmaer, der vil se det som en god chance til at hæve deres priser og bare øge deres profit i stedet for at give besparelser til forbrugerne?

      Tydeligvis er folk jo villige til at betale de priser, der er i dag så hvorfor skulle man sælge det for mindre?

      Penge ud af statskassen og ned i lommen på nogle store firmaer.

      Even though the taxes are higher, what matters is the price the consumer pays. There are countries in the EU with 0% tax on some groceries, resulting in just higher margins for the large supermarkets, with end consumer price not being meaningfully different to Danmark.

      Other than staple foods which are shown as a disclaimer, the VAT on food in Ireland is either 13.5% or 23.5%.

      Yes, and way too expensive for many danes. You already pay actual tax with quite a lot of your salary. 🙁 If you’re not fortunate to be one the strongest in our society, you really struggle. I noticed that more and more danes are struggling, after the new kontanthjælpslov/cash assistance law came into force, and are searching for help to get the most basic foods, cause they can no longer afford it. It’s sad 🙁
