What’s worse, the product quality is declining at a faster rate than price is increasing.
I find processed cereals and breads especially have become noticeably worse quality. Which is surprising given the cost of wheat is down since 2022. Energy costs to make these products are higher now.

Don’t worry lads Neale Richmond had a chat with them. Let’s make sure we all keep voting for the status quo.

Another thing never feckin mentioned in these articles is shrinkflation.
The price is not only going up. You’re also getting a lot less for the price.

Putin has done an absolute job on us. Why doesn’t NATO give Ukraine nukes and point them at Moscow. Problem solved, call their bluff.. they can’t even take over the entire country yet they can hold the entire continent to ransom to a relatively small economy

Food inflation feels like a lot more than 5% to me lately. Maybe its just the things Im buying but you’d expect most people to be buying some form of meat and that has rocketed in price in the last few months, it feels like beef alone has risen some 20% since the start of the summer.

I’m always amazed when I go back to Indonesia the difference in prices especially for locally produced goods. I get the wage or salary difference but think it’s clear retailers here are just using any old excuse to extort people. The greater demand always equates to a greater price which is scary given the crazy inflation going on.

You gotta love how this is a weekly story, now that it impacts everyone. A single person for example sees a 5% increase on a 5k euro annual grocery bill which is 250 euro a year increase.
Meanwhile, renters were seeing rents go up by 5-15% per year for rents of anything from 500-1200 per month.
House prices going up by 5-15% per year for the last 13 years on house prices of 300k.
House prices have gone up something like 40% since 2020. That means a 400k house in 2020 is now costing someone 160k euro more!
Renters were completely forgotten by media for a decade.
But sure the big issue is rice krispies are costing 40c more than they are last year.
Sorry lads, but house and rent prices are 10 times worse than food inflation.

Is the best advice to keep shopping in the same place or something else?

Just stop buying things you don’t need
.just because you crave something doensn’t mean you actually need it. Just find a way to suppress that feeling with some learning or anything.. not talking about general food. More about treats and shit like that
