Cue the ‘intelligent people’ who will somehow say this is ‘normal’ when it’s literally the “hottest summer on record”.

When the crops begin to fail and struggle they will wonder how could anyone have predicted it, I guarantee it.

Lovely to have a beautiful summer after a few years of mild drizzle.

Hey Met Office, the UK doesn’t care, esp the UK elites, lawmakers, media and general public who’d rather not see the planes spray painted

Average of 16C. Where? North of Scotland? We’ve been roasting in London and Hertfordshire 😅

I know that they are measuring average temperatures, however this year has not felt as hot as 2022 and 2023 when we had some extremely high temperatures for prolonged periods.

Really? I feel like both 2022 and 2023 were way hotter

I find this really weird one, because the news keeps reporting that weather is hottest on record, yet I am here in south east London wearing a jumper in mid August, contemplating turning on the heating coz it’s < 18 degrees in my flat, and walking my dog in 14 degrees morning.
There were indeed 4 heat waves, but it was really just a few degrees over 30 for a couple of days, not like the 40 degrees we had a couple of years ago where I had to cover my windows with aluminium foil.
I suppose it’s a different kind of heat – prolonged but just slightly above average, so little that you can’t really feel the difference. Kind of like death by a thousand cuts type of head. Plus yes it’s felt unseasonably dry this year so far.

It’s mad that the ‘incredibly hot summer’ of 1976 has been shoved out of the top 5 warmest now, which are now all in the last 25 years.
1976 was a nice two week heatwave at the start of the school holidays, but the main thing people remember is the drought because there was an unusually dry period of about 18 months. Also, we built a load of reservoirs as a result.
2025 didn’t have the crazy >40degree peaks, but the fact that it lacked that is whats so alarming. There wasn’t some freak, 1/100 chance massive heatwaves, it was just simply consistently warm and dry like its a new normal.

Climate change aside, I’ve loved this summer. Being outside after work every day for months, enjoying fresh air, parks, the beach, even just being able to eat our meals outdoors. Its done wonders for me

What is the point of these posts? I mean, what is the desired reaction/action to be taken by individuals?

I don’t think we even got into the 20’s once where I live, we’ve all been saying this is one of the coldest and worst summers ever!
Where is this average recorded? Down south?

Don’t worry though as it’s all big weather lying to you to push big green and big renewables.
Luckily I can rely on salt of the earth honest as the day is long Nigel farage to protect me from big solar and big EV by wrapping me in the safety of friendly oil and gas.
God bless reform for saving our kids

Guys, vote reform though so they can scrap our environmental policies and make the summers even hotter burning more non-renewables! /s
