Here are the relevant parts before anyone breaks a sweat decrying the end of democracy or whatever else…
‘Councillor Joseph Boam is accused of giving away ice creams outside a polling station for this year’s local elections.’
He was ‘filmed in May this year allegedly handing out ice creams during his and Reform UK’s local election campaign in North West Leicestershire.’
A police spokesperson said: “The force received a report from a third party of an ice cream van outside a polling station in May 2025. This is being assessed as to whether this constitutes treating under *electoral malpractice*.”
According to the Electoral Commission, under electoral law, **an offence is committed if someone gives or provides any meat, drink, entertainment or provision to any person for the purpose of influencing that person to vote or refrain from voting.**
Unfortunately for the rest of us, the reform base have shown time and time again, that they do not care about the quality, or lack thereof, of their candidates. They’re voting on the agenda and that won’t change.
Of course he was doing something obviously illegal and stupid on broad daylight, trying to pervert democracy.
Not even surprised.
Poor little guy, the deep state really is doing all it can to prevent reform gaining power. 😢
