As his. Yes HIS government lawyer stood in court and said Asylum seekers have more rights over the interests of local people

He did inherit a massive backlog of cases and of course people keep arriving, but he has done very little so far to really get a grip on the situation. The submission from Government lawyers that asylum seekers have more rights than actual citizens went down as one could expect.
Perhaps if he stopped with the sound bites and actually moved things along people would be more willing to believe he is doing something about the situation.

How many people would know about these asylum hotels if it wasnt for the media, clearly with an agenda telling people
Some near where i live, was totally oblivious and not causing bother, but then the local media tell people and suddenly everyones out with their virtual pitchforks. Getting angry because the media told them to be angry

I’m starting to think that 2025 is a beautifully written South Park Episode.
Cartman gets my vote to play Starmer.

It’s not JUST the fact the hotels are very expensive, remove their true use of being for visitors and tourists, and are poorly situated, either near communities or city centres where they can easily illegally work.
Address the fact the asylum system is a push over.
It is genuinely frightening not just how willing, but how *eager* Starmer and his cronies are to capitulate to the far-right. Within a space of a year Starmer has gone from criticising these far-right protesters to getting down on his knees and insisting ‘well I love flags too please support me!’ This is what happens when we have a government with no principles, no backbone, and just repeats whatever the right-wing press tell them too.

I’ve found Starmer’s government deeply uninspiring, far too timid, and much too willing to concede ground to the far right. I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost the election and I wouldn’t really blame many voters for being too disenchanted to not give them a second term.
**That said**, the recent Court of Appeals decision has stirred up a whole hornets’ nest of the usual suspects who are only capable of reading headlines and not articles.
The full case is still due to be heard in October; the only thing the Government intended to achieve by defeating the injunction was to remove the need for them to find a place for all those asylum seekers **right this instant** rather than on the timetable they’d originally intended.
The government wants those hotels emptied, of course they do – they are an ongoing PR nightmare for any government, and only exist so the Tories could continue to do the only thing they’ve ever been any good at: giving massive cash backhanders to their mates. But the government is trying to turn round an oil tanker here, and it’s not going to happen any faster just because the perpetually-outraged feel the need to spit their dummies.

Lie. He and his Labour Party are pro-unrestricted mass immigration from any and every nation on this planet, no matter how incompatible the culture may be. It doesn’t matter how much our standard of living drops, it doesn’t matter how many of them are criminals, it doesn’t matter how many of them will spend their entire lives on welfare, all that matters is MORE, and he believes they have more rights than you.
He’s a Britain-last politician, he always has been and he always will be, and people made a colossal mistake in electing him.

Those fascist idiots have torn up Epping, damaged property, attacked police, harassed and attacked innocent people etc.
This fucking clown of a PM has to go.

Really strange that its illegal to protest about some things, but legal to protest about this.

It feels like a fairly obvious statement? Even people on the left are not in favour of them being put in hotels, just that this is a last ditch resort as the capacity we used to have was cut down massively and little has been done to expand that in the last 5 years as this crisis has grown.
People should be in a safe and secure facility where they are able to access all the support they need, and be out in ideally under 6 months, either as a valid refugee with leave to remain in the UK, or as a failed asylum seeker who will be deported.
That is how our system *used* to work. Under the days of “Open Borders” New Labour no less.
