She gets hit in the head for a living. Are you surprised?

    2. ScepticalReciptical on

I’m pretty sure they are friends based on interviews I’ve seen in the past which isn’t hugely surprising given how small the combat sports community is at an elite level in Ireland

She gets hit in the head for a living and is a god botherer.
      She’s not smart.

We all love to big up Katie and call her a role model here cause she’s the best in the world at punching women in the face. It’s always forgotten that she’s a right-wing religious zealot who PUNCHES PEOPLE IN THE FACE for a living.

You would think supporting McGregor would be so at odds woth her Pentecostal faith???

    6. hisDudeness1989 on

Absolutely no time for this woman. Great athlete but she is mates with this clown?

    7. Melodic-Chocolate-53 on

Wins prizes for boxing, not using her better judgement.

    8. Necessary_Fill3048 on

Not surprised. Boxing clubs and gyms all over the country have been very fertile ground for this right wing crap doing the rounds the last number of years. Plenty of meatheads at those far right demonstrations and what not. A lot of this “Ireland for Irish” stuff is very adjacent to hyper-macho bullshit.

This is likes and plays by the looks of it, to be fair I played it and then laughed my head off as well

Pro tip as a lifelong fan of MMA and pro wrestling. Never value the opinion of someone who gets hit on the head for a living. With a few exceptions, they are all dumb as bricks.

    11. McGregor for president, The Monk for Taoiseach, Enoch Burke as minister of Education. Brought to you by AIPAC…Jesus I’m gonna make sure to never miss a vote to prevent this from ever happening.

It’s worth remembering he played a big role in her making WAY more money in her recent fights.

    13. vinceswish on

You’re no better if you think celebrities and athletes are some sort of role models.

The evangelical Jesus-huggers wouldn’t be known as the most sensible bunch.

McDiddys? Jesus Christ can we just not say this please? Let’s not make this a thing…

What is it with Irish female boxers having questionable attitude to things?

    17. Lonely_Eggplant_4990 on

Not the sharpest tool in the box. Great boxer and closeted lesbian though

He says as president he won’t sign a bill into law without sending it back to the people. What’s the point in even having a government then Conor. Let’s just have weekly referenda about everything. It’s true that he won’t sign a bill into law because it’ll be a cold day in hell before he gets elected.

Surprise surprise, the people who get head trauma for a living are a bit slow

    20. ChaucerBoi on

Funny how these people who get punched in the head for a living are fucking thick wackos. Makes you think

    21. AshleyG1 on

Boxing etc is just legalised beating someone up. Never understood why she’d be seen as a role model. Simply because she’s Irish, everything else goes out the window.

    22. HcVitals on

Person who gets in the head for a living doesn’t mind backing a convicted rapist *gasps* next you’ll be telling me that this group doesn’t like Dublin or something…

    23. Accomplished_Guest16 on

She is beloved in Ireland because she is one of, if not our greatest ever athletes. But lets not pretend she is a good person

    24. bloody_ell on

He isn’t running for president though, he’s too busy failing to get a nomination, to run for president.

The amount of people I have lost complete respect for based on their likes of this assholes posts

    26. qwerty_1965 on

You see a lot of this kind of thing, influencers in the same general area reflex liking. I’m not sure I’d read much into it.

    27. jackoirl on

She’s an athlete that should just stick to the sport.

Meant to be a role model for young girls, Christ what a dope.

    28. bakedfruit420 on

She gets hit too often in the head to offer an opinion on politics – I wouldn’t take her recommendations for anything..

    29. Usual_Method_7893 on

Pure speculation but I wonder with him supporting her recent boxing events and apparently funding heavily towards the bookings maybe she just entertains him to keep him happy.

He seems the type that people just smile and nod just so he shuts up and keeps away from them. Ideally you’d love people with fame and following to openly disagree with him but I can see why they prefer to politely agree. I think we all have people in our lives that we “put up” with

Reminds me of this quote: “Study hard, become doctor, engineer or a teacher. They are the one world needs.Dont idolize footballer, some of them are pure trash” – José Mourinho

Same can be said of any athlete/actor/musician etc. that gets idolised.
