US will benefit from Euro Russian conflict in so many ways. Double game in its best.

The Department of War is enough to scare potential enemies away.

    3. international_swiss on

US wants to profit from this . So most likely they want EU nations to „pay“ for US troops on ground.

Similar to how they want EU to pay a markup price for Ukraine weapons.

In long term interest of EU. It’s best that US leaves the occupied areas in Europe

There’s a lot of talk about the reduction of American aid, but no one is publishing the amount of the reduction.Hundred millions says in article , or billions as say also in article?
Is  it too large for Europe?

    5. Paper_Pusher8226 on

Doesn’t sound like a gap so large we couldn’t fund it ourselves.

    6. Hopeful_Hat_3532 on

US is no longer our ally. Get this printed in your fucking mind and move on. We’re alone here. We must learn to move forward without the fucktards and grow a fucking spine. I’m freaking tired of these spineless politicians.

Why puzzled? The Kremlin has had their puppet as US president for a while..

How can you be „puzzled“ by any of that when they have elected a convicted pedophile rapist?

Krasnov just doing what he’s told, OP. European Defense Force has to become real in every sense

The US: fuck you all, we want the isolation from the world!

The EU: what they mean by that?

    11. Rocketcaptain75 on

As an European, lemme correct that: Europeans puzzled by pretty much fucking everything that US plans to do these days.

It’s always the same shit. Every week you hear US cutting support, next week its sayed, US does full support now. Why are we still talking about that? We all know the US is no stable parnter anymore and acting like they are not existent is the safest way right now. I am so sick of the orange man and his moods.

I also have no fear about Russia attacking EU anymore. They don’t even manage to take over Ukraine, how would they do a two frontline war? If they attack, we are free to destroy all their infrastructure and they won’t be able to send troops anymore. You can see on Ukraines attacks, how weak their own defense is. I really hope Ukraine destryos their whole Oil refineries, then they will run out of money anyways.

Important note: Baltics are top spenders as % GDP in NATO (even higher percentage than US itself, lower only than Poland and plan to spend 5-6% every year for 26-2030 period). He’s punishing some of the most responsible NATO members who do and have been pulling their weight (well above 2% for a long time too) while saying “Europe should pay up”.

      F this shit.

How many surprising Pikachu moments do they need to understand this: US is not an ally. Focus on strengthening European defense force.

    15. Grouchy-Crew-7885 on

What’s to be confused about? The leader of the US is an idiot.

    16. IAmOfficial on

It’s funny all the comments that the US is a bad ally and betraying Europe because of the reduced funding.  If that’s the case, Europe has been a bad ally and betraying Eastern Europe and the US for decades by underfunding your militaries and not meeting your nato obligations.

    17. Purple_Plus on

      Are they idiots?

Genuinely, it might sound harsh but what the fuck are European countries (mine included) doing? Do they not listen to what the US officials say?

    18. AN0NY_MOU5E on

Nobody’s puzzled. Trump said be wouldn’t support NATO

    19. North_Activity_5980 on

For how many decades have pompous self important Europeans shat all over Americans? But you’re angry when they pull back? European NATO countries rode the coat tails of the US military and US companies for too long, meanwhile European countries stunted their own capabilities in terms of military and economy while for some reason adopting their brand of liberal democracy and globalised economic model. The EU is on its own NATO countries are on their own, stewing in our own defunct economic situation with an outdated social outlook. Decisions have consequences, who knew!

One should pay one’s own lunch bill. It cannot be any simpler than that.

You want to defend Russia, and you pay for your own defense. The only unfortunate thing is, US shares no land border with Russia, but European countries do. US does not have to invest a lot on ground forces; but EU countries must.

    21. Puzzled_Worth_4287 on

I believe trump is a trojan horse for Putin. He was sent in to take down the US and the West.
Economically, Socially and Geopolitically. He is succeeding. Most of the world sees this now except for the ignorant trump supporters who will be dumbfounded by what’s about to happen to their country.
It’s sad how the US used to be a pillar of hope to all the free nations of the world. Proudly helping maintain a rules-based order in the world. Now it’s turning into a fascist dictatorship like Russia and abandoning it’s allies and it’s honor.
      Such a disgrace.
The American need to see this for what it is, and fast otherwise there won’t be much left to save.
