The roads leading to the CHP provincial building have been completely blocked. After four trustees were appointed to the Istanbul provincial presidency, these individuals were expelled from the party and an extraordinary congress was held. Following this, a protest began with the message that the party building would not be vacated. As of September 7th, no members of Parliament are allowed to enter the provincial presidency building. Ali Mahir Başarır, a prominent figure in the CHP and a Member of Parliament, is calling on all citizens in Istanbul, whether they voted or not, to join him in standing against this siege.

The person appointed as trustee is someone who has clearly stated that he will not support the CHP in the local elections.
