Yeah I can get behind this. Handier then Parkwest, which is half an hour walk whereas Kylemore would be 10 minutes from my house.
This is good. I approve!
I got the train from Drumcondra to Park West after being in the Mater and it was deadly. Beats walking down through O’Connell Street to the shitty Quays to get the G1 which takes an age.

The mockup image in that article showing a semi-d alongside the entrance to the new high capacity train station just sums up why Dublins public transport and planning is so poor.

Great news, could be a little prettier. Irish rail love a bit of concrete and tarmac, any chance of literally anything else that easy on the eyes.

Gentrification coming to Ballyfermot, if it’s not already started.
Will be just 10/15 minutes from town. Connects with the Luas at Heuston and the Metrolink in Phibsborough. S4 orbital bus also.
800+ new apartments gone into East Ballyfermot and 1100+ starting in Park West Cherry Orchard area.

Looks good but needs a canopy roof on each platform

“public consultation” – just get some engineers to do the right thing, instead of what busy bodies with the loudest voices say.
do you think the countries with the top notch public transport do this “consultation”? do they fuck

Great to see the state getting its finger out of its arse on rail in Dublin even if it is 50 years too late.
Better late than never.

Would they not just get a central station at this stage in the works. So much better for connectivity if the western/southern routes linked onto the north west track and went to an expanded Connolly, then add to that, the new metro line passing by. Heuston, you’re not even in the city center, and the other transport hubs are by Connolly for the most part.
Yet god forbid we do one long term project , instead do small projects that pile more shit onto the current backwards system
