Dont let your eu countries fund the waste dictator of Nepal. Ban him please. Your hard paid tax money is getting wasted in Nepal.

      **Context:**
A nationwide protest was observed in Nepal on 8th September 2025, mainly in the capital.

      **Reason:**
The protest was against nepotism and corruption. The youth of Nepal began speaking out against “nepo-babies” and the corrupt governor who looted the country’s income and spent it on a lavish lifestyle. This sparked the trend: *“My tax money is not for your flex.”*

Since the dissolution of the monarchy, none of the prime ministers have worked for the country. As a result, unemployment has skyrocketed, brain drain is at its peak, and salaries are meager compared to the hours of work people put in. Meanwhile, political elites and nepobabies flaunted their wealth on social media.

During the protest, the government temporarily banned 26 major social media platforms under the pretext of “registration and updating laws.” However, many believe this was a hidden attempt to censor free speech.

      **What Happened:**
The protest began peacefully in several areas, with people raising their voices. But over time, it turned violent. Police responded with water cannons, tear gas, and eventually, officials ordered on-sight shootings at protesters.

      **Aftermath:**
More than 22 people were killed, and over a hundred were injured. Many of the casualties were students under the age of 18.

This is heartbreaking to see. Students should never have to fear for their lives simply for speaking up.

Yeah Nepali government immediately will stop if EU says so. This post is modern idiocy from someone who has no idea where is Nepal. China or India can put pressure on Nepal. EU cannot stop even violence against students in Serbia.

    6. The EU doesnt care about such things unless its Russia. Serbia, Turkey are all in the same situation but it doesnt concern the EU

    7. MethyleneBlueEnjoyer on

Good luck with that, the EU can’t even do anything about democratic backsliding in its own immediate neighborhood like Serbia or Turkey, it’s a geo-political non-actor.

    9. extremely sorry for no context
Am currently using VPN cause Reddit is banned in Nepal so the internet is very slow

This started when the government decided to ban all social media that were not registered in the country. The only prominent ones that are registered are Viber and TikTok. Some claim it was about taxes and some say its censorship. This started a nationwide protest against rampant corruption. Dubbed as Gen Z protest , protestors are overwhelmingly young people. Around 20 people died n the first day. In contrast its said only 25 died when we overthrew monarchy 2 decades ago. Live bullets were used. Headshots wounds. One MP from a new party who is a medical doctor who went to a government hospital to volunteer to treat the wounded has livestreamed claiming police came inside the hospital compound and shot people

There are rumors that government is planning electricity and internet blackout to isolate the country. My exams are cancelled . Tomorrow I am joining too.
I am terrified cause the students are fucking angry there is less leadership and thus more chances of the protest getting out of control and thus giving government more “justifications” to counter attack violently.

All major student and labor unions are subservient to any one o the 3 major parties and they wont support us. Please put pressure on your MPs and government to put pressure on the regime

      Thank you

Not an EU Citizen but I think all the world should help!

    11. GiantTastyXD on

Yeah… no. We got our own issues. Surrounding nations should do something

    12. Lanky-Rush607 on

Nah, the EU will only send thoughts & prayers. If they are even aware of the situation in Nepal.

    13. Suspicious_Feed_7585 on

Also, by which authority should eu do something about foreign shit.

Its not as if we (eu) got no other problems..

Also, what do ppl expect? What is this madness anyhow.. corruption is running wild.. ppl are looking at bully trump and think like he, we can do more to squash any insurrection or ppl that think differently
      .

This world is going to shit..and we all have front seats…

    14. Chester_roaster on

I’m sympathetic but don’t look to the EU to solve your problems.

    15. Ok-Resort2364 on

Sure the US is not trying to incite the youth to protest?

    16. Expert_Average958 on

Smells like regime change operation ala Bangladesh. Now Bangladesh is worse off, and the caretaker government doesn’t want to hold any elections for reasons unknown. Lol.

    17. Wonderful-Basis-1370 on

Lol, the EU is struggling to do anything in neighboring Turkey, Serbia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Belarus.

The EU could impose sanctions, but they would only damage the already struggling economy of Nepal. Politicians would be fine.

    18. RoyaleKingdom78 on

Nepalese brothers, EU will be funding your regime (let alone doing something) as long as your government accept EU trash/waste and lets your soil used for landfill for EU trash. Also, don’t forget to take unknown persons as immigrants, they’ll fund you for that. Turkish economy is %40-70 dependent on EU, they can theoretically topple Erdogan regime or cause a deep economical crisis in a day by embargoing but they prefer to fund him, and ones in Brussels are too busy with censoring internet nowadays.
