The other day there was a story about a driver who fractured a cyclist’s skull and had to pay £350. This guy had to pay £3000 (if you read the story not the headline). Seems like the cyclist has been harshly treated /s
>However, Ms Dos Santos told the newspaper the sentence was “paltry and insulting”, claiming she had not been informed of the change to Thornley’s plea and never submitted an impact statement.
Probably the most egregious part of this, plus whilst she can technically claim against him personally for her injuries and associated losses, realistically he’s not going to have the funds to pay. The amount (£2,500) ordered by the court probably won’t touch the sides.
Edit: and unlike a car accident the NHS and DWP won’t get any recompense either.

Seems like a fair excuse for riding without due care and attention. Often whilst driving home on the A41 the other side of the road is clear, whilst theres a build up of traffic on my side; Bengaluru rules should apply.
This shouldn’t be about cars or bikes; if you do this to another person you should be incarcerated for a period of time. Sentencing on crimes like this should be far higher.
