Let’s not forget that Louise Haigh was fired for a (relatively minor) phone fraud case 10 years ago. If Mandelson survives this it only shows that Starmer’s ethics test does not apply to Blairites.

      Mandelson’s email to Epstein:

      > “I think the world of you and I feel hopeless and furious about what has happened.
      >
      > “I can still barely understand it. It just could not happen in Britain. You have to be incredibly resilient, fight for early release and be philosophical about it as much as you can.”
      >
      > “Everything can be turned into an opportunity and that you will come through it and be stronger for it.
      >
      > “The whole thing has been years of torture and now you have to show the world how big a person you are, and how strong.”
      >
      > “Reminder. You are fighting back so you need strategy, strategy, strategy. Remember the Art of War.”

Not looking good, is it? With more leaks to come, how longer is Starmer going to stand by his man?

And our PM just sat through an entire session of PMQs, supporting him.

Ignoring the morality of this stance – it’s politically suicidal to defend a man entangled with perhaps the most famous paedofile in the world.

I can’t help but think Starmers days are numbered, as more stuff about Mandleson comes out.

What a dirty creep. Sack him and book him on the next budget flight out of Washington.

He tried to get his apology in early but he’s actually a disgusting toady who knew what the POS had done and was standing by him.

This is quite rightly going to be unsurvivable . The only people who don’t seem to have got the memo yet are Keir and Peter.

He needs to be fired immediately, no resigning just the boot, a show of strength from a weak gov

Everyone seems to know Epstein, nobody will dare claim to know each other; but they no doubt do.

Given the affiliations of the current occupant of the White House, maybe Mandelson was the right choice for Ambassador…

None of this surprises me in the least. Some people are extactly what they appear to be, and he appears to be a creepy weirdo.

    11. Isn’t Mandelson well past his sell-by date?

Until this happened I thought he was retired.

Starmers landed himself right in it now.

His reaction to this has been woeful, he did so badly in PMQs earlier he made Kemi look good! fucking Kemi Badenoch looked better ! thats like fucking at sea level for getting over the bar.

Starmer either fires him or he is as good as handing his own resignation notice.

    13. SkipperTheEyeChild1 on

What’s hilarious is that Starmer is standing behind him. He has no political common sense.

    14. Jumpy_Explanation222 on

What a vile prick this guy is. Has he resigned yet?

    15. These people are attracted to wealth. Greed on his part, needs to go.

    16. Starmer is fucked either way, and it’s all his own doing.

It was public knowledge that ‘Petey’ continued his friendship with Epstein *after* his conviction.

Starmer knew this and hired him anyway.

He can’t turn around and sack him for something everyone knew about in the first place.

      Today’s ‘revelations’ change nothing.

    17. Diligent-Till-8832 on

Is that why he was sat grovelling with the Scum?

Trying to get ahead of this….

Manderson was always a wrongun who knows where all the bodies are buried.

    18. Willywonka5725 on

Nonce loving twat, you can see why he’s the ambassador to the US, they must love him.

    19. Sharkpork on

Sack him then fully investigate him to the fullest extent of the law

    20. AbbreviationsHot7662 on

I’m convinced that Starmer had sent him to Washington precisely because he’s a nonce. Or nonce-adjacent. Or nonce-appeasing. Or all of those.
