Any memory to this event is portrayed as racist by the currenct city government. There was a deranged exhibition at the city museum a few months ago which portrayed the siege as a “misunderstanding between trade partners” and made the mass killings of the inhabitants of the surrounding areas (i.e. in Hainburg) seem like no big deal. Leftists seem to think that Sobieski is the reason why they have to deal with this disgusting indigenous Europeans and that his intervention prevented them from having a politically correct islamic population.
