Full quote from Iranian FM:
“Persian is widely taught in Armenia; of course, I must say why: the Armenian government has passed a law requiring all students to be fluent in the language of one of the neighboring countries as a second language. It is interesting that according to the statistics given to me by our embassy in Yerevan, we have more than 3,000 Persian language students, which is unparalleled; we do not have this number of Persian language students in any other country in the region. The extent of our communication and cooperation, and especially the positive view that both sides have towards each other, is extensive.”
Good! I am happy to read this. I have heard Iran also has many untranslated books on Armenian history, so not only is this connecting to our neighbors that we share so much history with, but it can also help to deepen our knowledge and understanding of our own history and culture.
