The ICE arresting him without cause, sure, I get that. He’s presumably not going to have been carrying around papers with him wherever he goes. But by the time he was in detention, and they could confirm he was a Northern Ireland citizen with a US visa, they… deported him anyway?

I am in the same position that he is and this is a ludicrous requirement. I literally live here. There are going to be times I don’t have my wallet, or I’ve forgotten my wallet. I’m out for a run. I’ve popped over to a neighbor. I’ve had to rush out of the house because of an emergency at my kid’s school (this one is common).
The idea that the punishment for that could be fucking deportation is outrageous.
The Northern Irish lad in question is bang on the money when he says it’s all about making numbers.
