Wasn’t the cap put in place for a very specific reason? The infrastructure wasn’t capable of handling the additional passenger numbers?

I’ve been to Dublin airport plenty, and never thought “I wish there was more people here.”

Looking forward to the inevitable chaos when the infrastructure at the Airport can’t handle more passengers and the airlines and DAA try to shoehorn everyone in like cattle being transported.

Forcing the airport to plan how to handle future growth wasn’t a bad idea. If the government is going to remove the cap, the airport should be made come up with a plan for growth. Otherwise, in a few years time, we will have another foreseeable ‘crisis’ when the airport and surrounding infrastructure is bursting at the seams.

Brain dead. Why not make better use of other existing Airports or build a new one a bit further inland? Boost the economy there.

The airport needs another car park on top of everything else.

Good lord, can we just build a rail connection to the city like every other country has?
