The real name and rank of ‘Soldier F’ is Lance Corporal David James Cleary. People in the 26 counties can freely name him as they are not subject to UK law.
Despite vigorous attempts by the UK government to prevent his prosecution, he is now on trial for his murderous actions on Bloody Sunday.
